Loaves & Fishes
We are called by Christ to reach out and serve those who are most in need.  There are many people who are hungry on Long Island.  Loaves and Fishes Ministry asks parishioners to donate food on a weekly basis and coordinates the delivery of that food to the many outreach centers in parishes of our Diocese who serve those who are poor.

Throughout the year, Loaves and Fishes supports special projects in conjunction with other groups such as the Saint Anne’s Moms’, our Youth Ministry, the Respect Life Committee and the Saint Vincent de Paul Society.   Special drives each month allow us to provide essentials such as supplies for babies and children, gifts for young unwed mothers and victims of abuse, and personal items for men who are starting out after a stay in prison or rehab.  Easter baskets for children in need, school supplies in August, sponsoring families for Thanksgiving and Christmas – these have become a tradition for Saint Anne’s Loaves and Fishes.

All parishioners can participate by bringing food donations to Church and depositing them in the special Loaves and Fishes closets.  Those who can do more are invited to join the Loaves and Fishes Committee as drivers or to help coordinate additional projects.
