Anointing of the Sick Home > Sacraments >
The Anointing of the Sick is available to strengthen those who are ill. This sacrament brings God’s healing. In the Anointing of the Sick (for anyone with serious illness—physical, emotional—anyone who is being admitted to the hospital, anyone who is elderly),God brings His healing touch. Jesus asks, “Do you want to be healed?” And that is His invitation in the sacrament. God’s gift in this sacrament is peace. It is important to note—it is the Sacrament of the Sick, for healing—not the “last rites” only when we are dying.
The Sacrament is offered at Saint Anne’s on the first Saturday of each month following the 8:30 am Mass. If a loved one is unable to come to church, call the rectory to arrange for a home visit. If a person is in the hospital and would like to be visited by the parish, please call the rectory as HIPAA (national policies governing health privacy) preclude the release of an individual’s name to the parish unless the patient gives permission.
