How Do I?

Support Our Troops

The Support our Troops Committee is an active part of Saint Anne's Parish Social Ministry.  Every month, supplies are collected and packages are mailed out to men and women in the military who are on active duty. Support is also offered through annual events such as our Lap Blanket Day, where blankets for wounded veterans are handmade; the group also coordinates parish support for the Wounded Warrior drive. Donations raised by the Middle Years are given to organizations such as Guardians of Rescue and other guide-dog foundations.

For information, please contact Parish Social Ministry at (516) 352-5904 or lindaleone@stannesgc.org.

Supporting our veterans

The Middle Years Group recently met with Joe Silva, Housing Manager at Catholic Charities Project Veterans' Independence, to learn how they best can support veteran's who have recently been homeless.

Christmas Stockings for Our Troops - 2015

Saint Anne’s faith community supports our troops on active duty by sending Christmas stockings and letters to soldiers with our prayers.  Our Middle Years group leads this effort and the 6th and 7th grades of Saint Anne’s School continue the tradition.  This year, the students donated Christmas stockings filled with gifts and food items to soldiers in Korea and a Marine Corp base.  Many thanks to the parents and teachers who helped support this special drive to help our students share the true Spirit of Christmas with these soldiers.
