How Do I?

Nurse Ministry

"Put on, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved,
heartfelt compassion,
kindness, humility, gentleness and patience…"
                                                                                                                                               Colossians 3:12

Nurses are known to have the special qualities called for in this Scripture verse.  One of our nurse ministers offered this prayer:

Father, we ask you to increase our competence and our compassion.  Help us reaffirm our covenant with you and your people.  Give us sensitvity and patience, but also a sense of humor.  Teach us that as we "do" things for others, that we "be" with them. Teach us the ministry of presence.  Amen.

Volunteer nurses in Saint Anne's Parish assist people with health care needs by providing information, assessment, possible referrals and advocacy.  They also work with caregivers of the sick in providing health guidance and assessment as needed.  Our nurses are a cheerful and helpful presence at Saint Anne's annual Sprit Day celebration and also at our Senior and Homebound Mass and reception.
