May 31, 2014 - June 01, 2014	All weekend Masses	Religious Retirement Fund Collection "THIS IS WHAT THE LORD ASKS OF YOU, ONLY THIS…." The weekend of May 31/June 1 is the annual collection for the Religious Retirement Fund. Religious Sisters and Brothers who have been involved in education, health care and social ministry in the Diocese of Rockville Centre need our help. The stipends being earned by young members of Religious Communities are no longer enough to support the needs of the elderly members of their Communities. The number of elderly Religious in assisted living or nursing facilities continues to rise and health care costs are rising too. For this reason, the Diocese of Rockville Centre, for the past twenty-nine years, has committed to return to our Religious Communities a portion of our gifts of treasure, in appreciation for the many years of service to the people of our Diocese of these dedicated servants of Our Lord. Please come prepared next week to assist the elderly Religious with a once-a-year gift, as generous as your means will allow. These gifts will be distributed among the twenty-nine communities who serve our Diocese. Your gift may be placed in the mail or dropped in the collection basket on this weekend of May 31/June 1. On behalf of the Religious who serve in our parishes and hospitals, I thank you for your generosity.

At our regular meetings there are games and activities that encourage teens to form new friendships and have easy conversations with many different people. June 03, 2014	7:00PM	Catholic Daughters - Installation of the Board The next meeting of the Catholic Daughters will be on Tuesday, June 3rd at 7:00PM in the Saint Therese Chapel of the school. The Board for the years 2014 through 2016 will be installed at a Mass. Please come and celebrate with the new officers and show them your support. All women of the parish are welcome to attend. The Holy Spirit was poured out upon that small group of disciples and on that Pentecost, through them, so many in Jerusalem came to believe. The true gift of Pentecost was bringing people together. No matter what nationality or what language, all experienced the work of the Spirit. What a wonderful, blessed beginning! The Holy Spirit brings the gifts of wisdom, understanding, right judgment, fortitude, knowledge, piety and wisdom and awe in God’s presence. Each community is given these gifts to be the Body of Christ and continue Jesus’ saving mission. As you leave church today, you will be given a “gift” of the Holy Spirit. Looking for a way to do something meaningful with your young children to help them learn the value of service? Please join us for our Spring Planting for Seniors. The event will take place at Saint Anne's on Sunday, June 8th from 11:00AM-12:30PM. Each family is asked to donate $5 which will cover the cost of materials to make beautiful blooming planters for our senior and homebound parishioners. After the planters are finished, each family will have the opportunity to brighten someone's life and deliver their gift personally. Remember to bring your trowel! Saint Anne’s Professional Networking Group Upcoming Workshop Value Based Goal Setting and Writing a Personal Mission Statement Monday, June 9th at 7:30PM - Saint Anne's School Cafeteria We will continue our work from the last Goal Setting Workshop and begin to develop a set of individual value based goals and objectives. Also, we will review the Values Characteristics and Skills/Talents worksheets from our earlier session. Our objective is for each of the attendees to not only develop a set of value based goals, but to also begin composing a Personal Mission Statement. This work can be very helpful for those of you who are looking to create a winning LinkedIn summary. If you plan to attend, please bring the exercises and handouts from our previous meeting to this session. If you have not been able to attend any of the previous goal setting events, please do not worry about being behind! You can jump in at any point and we are sure you will be able to easily catch up!! Our belief in the Triune God, three in one, is the central dogma of Christianity. Our One God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit in a relationship, a community of love. How wonderful and amazing is this mystery of our faith! This Triune God chooses to be one with us, loving us into eternity. June 22, 2014	8:30AM	High School Seniors in Ministry High School Seniors in Ministry Saint Anne’s is fortunate to have many young people involved in ministry. They set an example of faithfulness by volunteering as altar servers, catechists, lectors or leaders in Youth Ministry through their busy high school years. Many serve in more than one ministry. The parish would like to recognize their contributions to these ministries at the 8:30AM Mass on Sunday, June 22nd. If you are a high school senior involved in ministry, hopefully you have received a letter inviting you to attend this Mass. If for any reason, you did not receive this invitation, our apologies and we hope to see you on June 22nd. June 22, 2014	1145AM	The Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi) On Sunday, June 22, the feast of The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi) will be celebrated with a special liturgy and procession at the 11:45AM Mass. Please mark your calendars and plan on being present at the 11:45AM Mass. The procession with the Blessed Sacrament will take place on the sidewalk (Church side) of Dartmouth Street to Edgemere Road and Fairmount Boulevard back to Church for Benediction. Pope John Paul II in his letter Mane Nobiscum Domine (Stay with us, Lord) urged processions on the Feast of Corpus Christi: “Let us celebrate with particular devotion the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, with its traditional procession. Our faith in God who took flesh in order to become our companion along the way needs to be everywhere proclaimed, especially in our streets and homes, as an expression of our grateful love and as an inexhaustible source of blessing.” May this procession be a source of blessing for our parish of Saint Anne. June 23, 2014 - June 26, 2014	7:30AM and 9:00AM	Location Change for Daily Mass Daily Mass will be celebrated in the Saint Therese Chapel 6/23-6/26 Phase two of our church lighting project will begin on June 23rd. The recessed spot lights will be changed to LED bulbs. In addition to being energy efficient, the bulbs will also provide more illumination in the church building. Please note: Daily Masses on June 23rd through Thursday, June 26th will be celebrated in the St. Therese Chapel located in the lower level of the school building. Please enter through the McCloskey Auditorium entrance (doors under the blue awning ) and proceed downstairs. We appreciate your cooperation and flexibility during this brief disruption and look forward to the lighting enhancement in our beautiful church.

June 29, 2014	All Masses	Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, Apostles Solemnity of Saint Peter and Paul, Apostles Next Sunday, June 29th is the feast of Saints Peter and Paul, the two founders of the Church of Rome. Peter and Paul represent all believers and show us how to be church: by pursuing who Jesus is for us, being faithful to Jesus’s mission, and accepting any risks necessary to proclaim Jesus as Lord. In a sermon in the year 395, St. Augustine of Hippo said of Saints Peter and Paul: “Both apostles share the same feast day, for these two were one; and even though they suffered on different days, they were as one. Peter went first, and Paul followed. And so we celebrate this day made holy for us by the apostles' blood. This Sunday we celebrate the Feast of the Most Holy Trinity. Our belief in the Triune God, three in one, is the central dogma of Christianity. Our One God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit in a relationship, a community of love. How wonderful and amazing is this mystery of our faith!

This Triune God chooses to be one with us, loving us into eternity. It is because of this divine community of love that we strive to be a community of love in our homes, workplaces and here in our parish. It moves us to express that love by reaching out to those in need, giving of ourselves for the good of others.

O Most Holy Trinity, undivided unity, Holy God, Mighty God, God Immortal be adored!

Saint Anne’s is fortunate to have many young people involved in ministry. They set an example of faithfulness by volunteering as altar servers, catechists, lectors or leaders in Youth Ministry through their busy high school years. Many serve in more than one ministry.

The parish would like to recognize their contributions to these ministries at the 8:30AM Mass on Sunday, June 22nd. If you are a high school senior involved in ministry, hopefully you have received a letter inviting you to attend this Mass. On Sunday, June 22, the feast of The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi) will be celebrated with a special liturgy and procession at the 11:45AM Mass. Please mark your calendars and plan on being present at the 11:45AM Mass. The procession with the Blessed Sacrament will take place on the sidewalk (Church side) of Dartmouth Street to Edgemere Road and Fairmount Boulevard back to Church for Benediction.

Pope John Paul II in his letter Mane Nobiscum Domine (Stay with us, Lord) urged processions on the Feast of Corpus Christi:

“Let us celebrate with particular devotion the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, with its traditional procession. Our faith in God who took flesh in order to become our companion along the way needs to be everywhere proclaimed, especially in our streets and homes, as an expression of our grateful love and as an inexhaustible source of blessing.”

May this procession be a source of blessing for our parish of Saint Anne.

Phase two of our church lighting project will begin on June 23rd. The recessed spot lights will be changed to LED bulbs. In addition to being energy efficient, the bulbs will also provide more illumination in the church building.

Please note: Daily Masses on June 23rd through Thursday, June 26th will be celebrated in the St. Therese Chapel located in the lower level of the school building. Please enter through the McCloskey Auditorium entrance (doors under the blue awning ) and proceed downstairs.

Peter and Paul represent all believers and show us how to be church: by pursuing who Jesus is for us, being faithful to Jesus’s mission, and accepting any risks necessary to proclaim Jesus as Lord.

In a sermon in the year 395, St. Augustine of Hippo said of Saints Peter and Paul:

“Both apostles share the same feast day, for these two were one; and even though they suffered on different days, they were as one. Peter went first, and Paul followed. And so we celebrate this day made holy for us by the apostles' blood. Let us embrace what they believed, their life, their labors, their sufferings, their preaching, and their confession of faith.”
