Worship June 07, 2015 - June 07, 2015 11:45AM Feast of Corpus Christi - The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ

Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ

On Sunday, June 7th, we celebrate the solemnity of the Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ with a procession after the 11:45 Mass.

The procession with the Blessed Sacrament will take place on the sidewalk along New Hyde Park Road to Princeton Street, and back to Church for Benediction. This procession is a public witness to our belief in the Eucharistic presence of Christ. Mark your calendar and plan to be at the Mass and procession.

Pope John Paul II in his letter Mane Nobiscum Domine (Stay with us, Lord) urged processions on the Feast of Corpus Christi:

“Let us celebrate with particular devotion the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, with its traditional procession. Our faith in God who took flesh in order to become our companion along the way needs to be everywhere proclaimed, especially in our streets and homes, as an expression of our grateful love and as an inexhaustible source of blessing.”

All high school seniors and their families are invited to the 11:45AM Mass on June 28th.  Saint Anne’s would like to recognize their accomplishments as they graduate from high school and wish them luck in their future endeavors.

Many of the graduates have been involved in ministry.  They set an example of faithfulness by volunteering as altar servers, catechists, lectors or Youth Ministry members.  Others have participated in service opportunities in their schools.  We offer  our prayers and best wishes as they will be the future leaders in our Church and in our communities.

We would like to provide each of the students with a Bible and would kindly request they RSVP to Susanne Blum at sblum@stannesgc.org or 352-5904 if they will be with us at the Mass on June 28th.

Faith Formation June 30, 2015 - June 30, 2015 7:00PM Summer Movie Night @ Saint Anne's

Summer Movie Night at Saint Anne's - Please Join Us!

Presenting: "Romero"

Date: Tuesday, June 30th

Time: 7:00PM

Place: Our air-conditioned cafeteria in Saint Anne's School

Last month in El Salvador, Archbishop Oscar Romero was beatified, a step toward canonization.  Archbishop Romero was martyred in 1980 as he was celebrating Mass.  He was a champion of the people of El Salvador and gave his life for them.  The movie, Romero, traces his life and journey in his ministry with the people of El Salvador during a tumultuous time in their history.

We will show the movie “Romero” in our air conditioned school cafeteria on Tuesday, June 30th at 7:00 PMPlease call the rectory (352-5904) or email Sr. Judy (srjudy@stannesgc.org) to let us know if you will be coming so that we have enough chairs and popcorn for the show!

At the movie presentation there will be a free will offering for the ministry of Sister Flor Buruca, OP, a Dominican Sister of Amityville, who runs a camp each year in El Salvador for young children.  Sister Flor will be here with us that evening.  She was growing up in El Salvador during the time of Archbishop Romero. Sister was present at his beatification in May!
